摘要

In this white paper, you will get a better understanding of the requirements for building a strategy for fast, reliable access to online information. Organizations need a strategy that can align the value of their information with the appropriate service levels, cost structure and business objectives. The need for building a tiered storage and information life cycle management (ILM) strategy is outlined in detail.
The process of identifying business objectives begins by developing an in-depth understanding of business processes and policies as they relate to records retention. Facets such as corporate governance, regulatory compliance, litigation support, Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) are considered. Business process and policies should be aligned with business units and applications to begin the data classification process.
