摘要
The bar code labels on tape cartridges provides not only human-readable but also machine-readable identifiers, which enable the tape library to correctly manage the tape cartridges. Any failure in the card code label system can cause data to be inaccessible to the system and the user. This paper discusses the many factors required to use bar code labels successfully in the tape backup environment, and includes a do's and don'ts of bar code labels. (March 28, 2003)
