摘要
Disk storage vendors commonly quote bandwidth specifications for their storage devices. What are the rules for calculating bandwidth and how accurately do they measure performance? To validate the many and often confusing performance claims, IT professionals must often resort to on-premises testing. However, this process can be time consuming and disruptive.
Is there an easier, more standard way for users to evaluate disk performance without the hassle of a "bake-off"? Enter the Storage Performance Council and its standard benchmark suite. The new storage standard -- the SPC benchmark -- cuts through the vendor hype.
